Raised in the Middle East and now based in Cambridge, Julia's passion is exploring themes using the photographic medium and working with people from different social and cultural backgrounds.
Julia works in the medium of photography using both traditional and digital processes in order to communicate ideas and meaning.
Having initially studied photography at London College of Communication, Julia has continued her practice gaining experience working in commercial studios, galleries, and exhibiting her work in Cambridge and London.
She now specialises in documentary projects contextualised within a sociological /psychological framework and has developed collaborative programmes involving a selection of diverse communities in the photographic process. She had recently returned to London College of Communication, in order to study a Masters in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography and uses still and moving image within her self initiated projects. She plans to begin her research (PhD) study in 2014.
